We recognise the importance of being sensitive and responsive to the needs of our young people. In order to achieve this, we apply a person-centred approach and incorporate the P.I.E. (Psychologically Informed Environments) Model.
How We Work
Our service offers young people a bespoke package that works in conjunction with their pathway plan. Each young person will receive support via weekly keywork sessions and additional support as identified by the young person, family and professionals around the young person and support staff. Staff aim to build therapeutic relationships to demonstrate consistent, present and responsive care that enables healing and development of emotional resilience and confidence. The home offers 24 hour supervision and accommodates no more than 4-5 young people at once. There will be staff available at all times and numbers are dependent on need. Our service is linked to our Emergency out of hours/on call team and senior managers will visit the service in an emergency if required.
The service is set up to provide a homely set up in order for young people to feel comfortable and receive the highest quality of care via targeted support and close supervision, eliminating the issues of lack of engagement whilst ensuring young people do not feel overwhelmed and or crowded. Down time/self-time is encouraged. All young people benefit from their own bedrooms, with shared living spaces to encourage building positive relationships and providing peer to peer support. The service is suitable for those whom require well-structured living options with necessary boundaries.

The level of support provided will be increased or decreased as required and in consultation with the placing authority to meet individual needs, especially for young people with learning difficulties and/or disabilities, as some may require 1:1 support 24 hours per day. Our staff team will establish the level of independence by assessing and documenting the young person’s daily living. This will enable us to also identify and develop areas that require support.
We use the “Getting Ready for Adult Life” programme (Published by Rainer, National Leaving Care Advisory Service and The Fostering Network) and the ‘My Kind of Future’ workbook which is an easier read for those with learning difficulties.
