Supported Living Services

Accommodation and Services

At Ascension Support, our services range from supported living accommodation, respite, emergency accommodation and community support.

Our aim is to work closely with families and commissioners as well as the individuals requiring support, in order to create a better picture of the needs and wants of the individual and everyone involved in their care. This enables us to create the right setting and most conducive environment to meet the individual’s needs. Support and surroundings go hand in hand and while it is always good practice to offer the service closest to the individual’s family and friends, we recognise this may not always be possible or appropriate, therefore we desire to ensure the best support and environment enables individuals to feel at home and well cared for.

Supported Living

Our supported living accommodation offers shared housing, a combination of single and double rooms, with shared communal areas. This encourages interaction amongst residents, opportunities to create friendships, develop social skills and participation in group sessions such as cooking, gardening and film nights.

Ideally our services are suited to people who have a range of needs, including challenging behaviour, mental health and/or learning disabilities. We treat people as individuals who have goals and aims despite their difficulties and aim to provide support with daily living tasks and encourage participation in community activities. This enables individuals to access whatever levels of support they require, without losing their experience of independence.

Our property is located in a residential area, close to local amenities, leisure facilities and employment opportunities. Whatever the set-up, we provide a safe and homely environment.

Respite and Emergency Accommodation

Our service is able to offer respite and emergency accommodation for adults with mental health needs, learning disabilities, autistim and challenging behaviours. We understand that there are times when individuals need space from their usual surroundings or placements breakdown last minute. Our facilities are able to accommodate individuals in such situations and our experienced team of skilled and qualified support staff will ensure to provide care and support that are in line with the agreed care plan, to allow continuation.

Mental Health, Learning Disabilities, Autism and Challenging Behaviours

We believe that every individual deserves to be well supported, despite difficult behaviours they may have. The Ascension Team have been fully trained in skills and interventions of Positive Behaviour Support which allows us to analyse and reflect the triggers (personal and environmental) that affect individuals, alongside the expertise of those involved in their care, in order to manage and reduce harmful behaviours. The impact usually means an increase in the quality of life, promotion of independence and prevention of placement breakdown.

We support people aged 18 and over, diagnosed with mental health conditions, such as anxiety and panic disorders, bipolar disorder, depression and personality disorders. We also support and care for those who have learning disabilities and autism. Our aim is to look beyond the diagnosis and using a person-centred approach, tailor the support plan to the individuals needs and level of support they require. Through self-development and collaborative support with staff, the people we support gain self-confidence and improved emotional wellbeing on their pathway to independence and recovery.
